About Captain Kenton

Giant Speckled TroutCaptain Kenton Linthout was obsessed with fish and catching them from the moment he realized their existence as a toddler. Chasing every species available he was fishing big money bass tournaments by the age of 12. A professional fishing career in the making, but interrupted by answering a call to serve his country he accepted a commission in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Auburn University.

More than 10 years, traveling the world, chasing inshore and offshore fish in the Florida panhandle, Virginia, South Texas, North Carolina, Okinawa Japan, and living on an old motor yacht for most of it. Multiple decorated combat tours as a Tilt-rotor Pilot flying MV-22 Ospreys, instructor pilot, rifle and pistol marksmanship instructor. Then another career was cut short when Kenton was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, deemed medically disabled, and honorably discharged.

So back to fishing.

Now a trained instructor with a passion for doing so, armed with a though process and skill set honed from constantly moving and learning new fish in new waters Kenton set out to do what he loved. Catch fish and teach people how, and there you have it, Catch Theory Charters was born.

Captain's day off fishing with Capt. Brant and Capt. Eric
SnookWe hit the causeway before sunrise chasing the Tarpon that have been hanging around there. Got 4 strikes at first light on a big spool tek swimbait but I couldn't keep them buttoned. Fishing big live baits wasn't even feasablile with the amount of big spanish and juvenile king mackeral around. Lots of bait, big ones tight to the colums and small scattered everywhere around. Wound up with a 22.5" gag (seems to be plenty of these now they changed the limit to 24") also got a 35" and 36" Snook.
